THE THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY
2019 All Ireland Convention
The 14th All Ireland Convention took place on Saturday 25th May at Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin. The Convention theme was 'The Mysticism of Theosophy'.
Our esteemed Guest Speaker, Bernice Croft, is a New Zealand member and for past few months has been in TS related service in England. She was Private Secretary to our former International President, Radha Burnier, and has travelled around the world many times with her. She has also given lectures on her travels, in England and in New Zealand.
Bernice delivered a most interesting, deeply appreciated and inspiring address on the Convention theme. There was a real sense of Oneness and a potent atmosphere in the room that day. This very special event was well supported by members present from across the length and breadth of Ireland.
At Refreshment time, following the Business Meeting where the All Ireland Officers, Organising Secretary, Marie Harkness, Assistant Organising Secretary, Catherine Lenehan and Treasurer, Paul Johnston were re-elected for another term, we celebrated 10 years of the existence of Phoenix Lodge Dublin, and over 100 years of the existence of Theosophy in Ireland, with a special cake and gifted uplifting laminated Bookmarks. In the early 1900's many poets, artists and others of the literary world were members of or related to the Theosophical Society. We also drew the attention of the members to the existence of the Dublin Charter signed by Annie Besant, former International President, in 1909.
Before leaving, our lovely Guest speaker was presented with Irish mementoes by Assistant Organising Secretary, Catherine Lenehan and photographs of the Officers and all attendees were taken.
Without doubt, it was a truly happy, uplifting and very special occasion.
